Is it me, or did Turkish song titles get a little samey for a few years? I know I’m a Eurovision fan, but I have trouble remembering my Düm tek tek from my Süperstar. And when they throw in a Rimi rimi ley I just don’t know where to put myself. But now that Turkey has consigned itself to its little Türkvizyon fest, I can almost look fondly at Turkey and like how they went from no-hopers to flavours of the month. Today’s birthday girl Hadise Açıkgöz was a flavour of the month, and finished a magnificent fourth. So why did Turkey really stop competing? What do you think?
