So the last two of the day, in no particular order…

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, sitting under an apple tree waiting for an apple to fall is NOT SMART, at least not around here, where apples are plentiful and in abundant supply. As, indeed, are large branches and/or small trees, which were being carried around the region by many and varied young German people yesterday. What’s that all about?

Paradise Oskar – and not, as I nearly just typo-ed him, Parasite Oskar – really seems to be putting a great deal of faith in himself and his song, cause there ain’t a lot else going on to draw the attention away. I think I prefer smiley Oskar to the a-bit-bored Oskar we saw in the escdaily video, and I don’t doubt that this’ll improve when he’s got a crowd to play to and/or we see what the actual NDR cameras are looking at and/or we see the final run through of today’s session – presuming that wasn’t it.

Georgia are bringing plenty of power and energy to the stage, adding to my nagging doubts over Turkey who fish in the same pond, but I’m not sure that I’d include “quality” in my little list of adjectives. It seems to be proving more difficult than it should be, even now, to bring really good rock songs into the Eurovision environment. Not that there’s anything wrong with trying…
