This mornings rehearsals so far

Sjonni's Friends

It appears Belgium has taken its toll on us – so we are only just catching up with “stuff”

Iceland First – MEH is the first word that comes to mind. It looks horribly forced and fake and yes, i know there is the sympathy thing behind it – but that still isnt going to get a look in when it comes to Televotes. Eurovision isn’t won on Sympathy gained in the 38 seconds between the songs and all this is missing from being a complete sick making bag of pump is Sjonni’s face on the background! – The song is average at best and awful at worst. I can’t see the attraction to it personally and it makes me heave. Others think there is an Olsens vibe about it – I definitely cant see that, but I do think it could be on the cusp of qualifying, but no higher than that.

Hungary – That is much more like it. Kati finally remembers that she has to hit the high notes of the song and she doesn’t fall off the side of a cliff, hurrah!! Visually though, it looks awful, I would get rid of the backing dancers as they seem to have no effect and *I* personally wouldn’t have had the dull old background. Definitely back in the race, but I have concerns.

Portugal – The Pre 2010 Lib Dems of this contest are still doing the business with placards in hundreds of languages. It makes “me” laugh (considering they mention cheese in the lyric) but I suspect OnEurope are one of the few places that get this song. Let me explain it to you, Europe – It’s SURREAL HUMOUR about a situation that most of Europe find themselves in. Whist the lack of English will make it suffer in the voting, make no mistake that the background behind it will be tried to be explained. Many people will then understand, as will the comic voters out there – this is either going to qualify in 10th place, or come hideously last!!
