A record number of Swiss entrants – they love the cake in Geneva!

Swiss cake

Reports have reached OnEurope towers that the Swiss broadcasters have received a record number of entrants for this year’s Eurovision national selection.

I was flabbergasted to read that not 50, nor 100 but 670 songs have been submitted to SSR-SSG for consideration this year. It’s a number that may or may not have been inflated by that fact that non-swiss songwriters can now enter. That and that the focus has shifted away from a good artist to focusing on a good song (it’s a *song* contest, who the f*ck knew, eh?)

There is now a committee meeting, probably with added Toblerone, when a panel of judges will take these 670 hopefuls and decide on SIX for the Swiss Final on 4th February … and good luck to them, I say.
