It’s a rehearsal blog cliché to state after one shaky run (where the sole purpose was to get the camera angles that such and such right) that a song is sailing through to the final ... but Belarus are literally trying to do that, singing their happy, folky number from the brow of a sailing boat with a couple of wind machines for propellers.

You’ll love or hate this depending on how palatable you find the style of music. I’m rather given to it. There’s an energy and vivacity to it, which is unsurpassed this year, save maybe for Italy. I do think it’s one which could go either way though, as I can see why their infectiousness might also annoy the crap out of some of you.
