The Red Carpet Event of the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest will take place on Sunday 7th May at Kyiv's Mariyinsky Palace and will be streamed live on YouTube.
All participating acts (and each country delegation) will take to the carpet on the walk down to the Opening Ceremony. The 2017 Red Carpet is a record-breaking 265 metres long.
This location will include a special area for the press of each participating country and accredited fans of Eurovision 2017. Each delegation will move along the red carpet for about forty minutes and will last for two and a half hours. Simultaneously on the red carpet, a total of 12 delegations of each country will feature. They will stop for photo shoots, will give interviews and autographs for fans.
The delegations then move on to the Parkovy Exhibition and Congress Centre for the Opening Ceremony.
Each delegation will raise the flag of the participating country on the roof of the building, before the start of the ceremony (finally!) begins.
The National Academic Orchestra of Folk Instruments will perform a medley of a number of previous Eurovision hits - what a treat! There will also be special guests (Verka and Ruslana, we bet) throughout the evening.
