In, out, in, out … shake it all about

Plan A, Plan B

In news that must surely surprise nobody, (the Former Yugoslav Republic of) Macedonia is back in Eurovision.

An EBU press release today stated:

“The EBU and Macedonian Radio Television (MRT) are pleased to announce that MRT will now participate in the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest. This follows the lifting of sanctions imposed for non-payment of debt. MRT will be participating in the Eurovision Song Contest for the 18thtime.”

Skills for managing to mention ‘MRT’ three times in so few words.

So unless Russia and Ukraine kick off the whole ‘persona non gratis’ thing again, it’s 43 countries at Eurovision 2018 – equalling the record set in Belgrade in 2008, and Düsseldorf in 2011.
