11 March – Everything we’re looking for is right here

There’s been a lot of hoo-haa about the choice made by a certain country last night. And also its neighbouring country. Could what they’ve chosen be a winner, a runner-up, or just a song that languishes in 14th place in its semi-final?

I’m talking about Sweden. It’s been acknowledged that they haven’t had a vintage Melodifestivalen this year. But perhaps the best in a mediocre bunch won. And on the subject of Sweden, today’s birthday boy (Erik) Tommy Nilsson did his stuff for them in 1989. That’s 29 years ago. It came fourth, and some say it’s one of Sweden’s best ever song. Do you agree?.

Tommy is 58 today.

Grattis på födelsedagen, Tommy!
