Control yourselves people. I’ve picked a Swedish birthday for your viewing pleasure today. And it’s from over 10 years ago – yes, Eurovisions did exist in those dark days before we had semi-finals and Swedish and Norwegian head honchos.
Riga was a nice little host city back in 2003, and saw a massive field of 26 songs. Birthday boy Magnus Bäcklund was the (obviously) male half of Fame, who managed a respectable fifth place. Actually, if you fancy a trip to yesteryear, Melodifestivalen 2003 is a very high quality affair. Go on, watch it, I dare you.
Magnus is 51 today.
