4 December – It’s a whole new world, a new fantastic point of view

Do you have favourite songs that finished as runner-up on the big night?

Some very illustrious song have finished in this position, and some have even become more famous than that one song that beat them.

Take a certain Mr Cliff Richard for example. His song is heard far more often than the winner from 1968. Or a certain Ms Losco from 2002. She’s still darn popular.

Our friends in Spain finished second three times, which is more than they’ve won. The first of these runner-up spots belonged to today’s birthday girl, María Isabel Llaudes Santiago, also know as Karina. She lost out to Monaco and their only win (to date – hahahaha).

Karina is 73 today.

Feliz cumpleaños, Karina!
