Soon countries will be picking songs for the following year before that year’s contest has taken place. Mark my words. I know it’s got nothing to do with today’s birthday girl, but I wanted to get it off my chest. When Eva Boto got stuck in the semi-final in 2012, I was most surprised, considering its pedigree. But she mostly picked up votes from the Balkans. Eva is 19 today.
