Twenty years ago we got to mix it with the rest of you lot. Well, 21 years ago if you include the little pre-party in Ljubljana. Anyway, we’ve had a win in those 20 years, as has today’s birthday girl’s country. Frances Ruffelle shed her grungy image in the UK’s national final and went all velvet and bent wire coathanger on us. And the UK of stuff changed the title of the song, the fools. Frances is 49 today.
