Riigi goes to Kopenhaagen – Tuesday morning

Kodan

Welcome welcome. I’m taking a break from my official duties to bring you up to dates with my movements. No, not those movements, you smutty individual(s).

I infiltrated the Euroclub last night, and my it’s stair-ey. Stairs to get everywhere. From the street, into the disco, into the lounge, and into places we were not allowed into last night. But I am glad to report the beer isn’t that pricey with 50 things for a 500ml Tuborg in a plastic container. Other drinks are available. I even bumped into some of the stars – I do this so you don’t have to. I told Vilija Matuchiu Matiichu from Lithuania she needed dancing penguins on stage. It appeared to get her thinking.  Hersi, András, Teo, Tomalchecyx2, Mariya were all there looking in awe at some of the sights discoing away.  I left sometime after 1am.

It’s another warm and sunny day (are you jealous yet) and I’m stuck in a tent that gets warmer by the hour.  we’ve seen three “songs” rehearse so far.

Moldova is dull dull dull.  She tries, with her dark stage, over enthusiastic dancers, moody demeanour and interesting take on the English language. Pouting is an old trick and Mrs Miklós in Debrecen will see right through it.

San Marino’s, sorry, the Ralph Siegel entry doesn’t set the world alive either.  She moves and shimmies in front of her best silk sheets, fashioned into a pleated seashell.  It ain’t working and even if this song wasn’t written back in 1976, it still wouldn’t have qualified back then.

Then Portugal wowed us – no that’s not the right word – cowed us into submission with their song in the Eric Morecambe style.  Al of the notes but not necessarily/or even in the right order.  Only a nice pasta, pesto and mozzarella salad made things OK.

Breaking news – The Sammarinese and Portuguese rehearsal excerpts are online, but Moldova isn’t.  Maybe they have a problem with what was filmed…

More soon
