Swedish singer Thorsten Flinck has been disqualified from the 2020 Melodifestivalen – the TV series that picks a song to represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest.
A posting on Swedish broadcaster SVT’s Melodifestivalen blog confirmed (picture of health and good living) Flinck is out after it emerged he currently faces criminal charges for threatening behaviour and vandalism. Organisers have given his song (Miraklernas tid) to Jan Johansen.
The maverick performer was already on a yellow card after breaking SVT rules in November last year by revealing he had secured a place in the national selection line-up.
Flinck is a Swedish actor, director, and musician, known for playing psychopaths and villains. He previously placed eighth in the 2012 Melodifestivalen with “Jag reser mig igen”.
