25 October – Teach me to live again

After yesterday’s problême technique, I’ve got the string repaired and am online again. As you may know, it’s true that there were contests in the 20th Century, and today’s song come from a fine contest before the millennium. It’s from the Mediterranean’s happiest rock.

The term ‘grand dame’ is occasionally used to describe the great and the good, and it applies to today’s birthday girl Mary Spiteri. She sang for her country in 1992, but had been trying – on and off, mostly off – since 1971. She’s often seen at Malta’s Eurovision events, and what Mary wants, Mary always gets. And at Oneurope, we like her. She even looked at Mr Phil when he was in Ta Qali this year. He’s not washed since..

Mary is 70 today.

Għeluq sninek it-tajjeb/Happy birthday, Mary!
