How has your 2016 been? A good year? Or one you’d like to forget? Aside from the celebrity death a week, I’ve liked this year. Our favourite TV show was a success – even if it was in Sweden – and we’ve got a cheap old time in Kyiv to look forward to. JESC went OK and our friends at Eurovision Ireland had a presence there. Go to their website if you don’t believe me.
But you’ve not come here for a blatant plug, you want a birthday. I’ve picked a winner who’s not – technically – European, although she’s embraced Europe just like most people from her native Israel. It’s Avigail ‘Gali’ Atari. She’s backed by Milk & Honey, and here’s their performance from Kdam 1979.
Gali is 63 today.
יום הולדת שמח, גלי!
1. 3rd year in a row, you mark Gali Atari’s birthday,I though you try not to repeat yourself and yet..
2. The video isn’t from Milk & Honey’s performance in the 1979 Israeli Kdam. The video is from 1980, when they were guests performance in the 1980’s Israel Song Festival and performed the song.. There was no Kdam in 1980 as Israel didn’t participate at the 1980’s Eurovision.
Their performance in 1979’s Kdam(or as it was called than-Israel Song Festival) is in the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=byRwAYT5GZg
