Unless you’ve been living in a cave on Ganymede, you’ll know that we’re off to Lisbon for two weeks of European lunacy. It’s about time too. I’ve wanted to get away from northern/central Europe, and find somewhere with a warm and sunny coastline. And not Greece.
One fun fact about Portugal is that they sent the first song to be competitively sung in a Contest outside of Europe. It came from today’s birthday girl Maria Manuela de Oliveira Moreira Bravo – Manuela Bravo to you and me. It was in 1979, and as we know the host country won the thing. But I always wondered where that balloon of Manuela’s went.
Manuela is 60 today.
Feliz aniversário Manuela!
