26 September – Don’t get on the wrong train

Transport is a common theme in Eurovision songs. Whether it’s planes, trains or automobiles, they’ve all had their place over the years. So do you have a favourite song that involves getting from A to B? Or do you prefer songs about penguins, Moldova or walls coming down over Europe? If that’s the case, we may wish to educate you with one of the best songs about a form of travel. It was a duet between Franco Battiato and today’s birthday girl Alice Visconti (born Carla Bissi). The train they sang about wasn’t even a European one. Enjoy this masterpiece from 1984. Alice is 62 today.

Buon compleanno, Alice!
