The draw for Eurovision contests is always a very odd thing. We all know there are whole websites that pick apart such things, and decide whether Latvia will do better if they’re in the same half of a semi-final as Azerbaijan. Or Finland will only get in the top half if they’re kept away from Malta. Anyways, for three contests, little Montenegro opened the first semi-final. Imagine how that must feel. Early arrival in Belgrade/Moscow/Baku. First rehearsal on a Monday morning. First to have champagne in the Green Room after your performance. Sadly, also possibly the first song to be forgotten by televoters. They’ve since started doing better and have made the last two Grand Finals. One of these semi-final openers was Стефан Филиповић/Stefan Filipović. He didn’t finish last in his semi-final, so later on in the draw and he might just have qualified. Stefan is 28 today.
