The United Kingdom of stuff holds the record for the longest run of appearances in our favourite TV show. One country has been in more, but they had a hiccup in the 1990s. This gives them a rich history of singing from which to choose. Not only that, they’ve had more than their fair share of runners-up spots. Fifteen times in 58 appearances is quite something, even if their form has been a little bit patchy of late. So let’s take a walk down memory lane and see the third time the UK came second. It was a duet between Bernard Day – Bob Allison and Brian Alford – John Allison. John is is still around but Bob sadly died in 2013. Bob would have been 75 today.
