It’s not every person in Eurovision land who gains a notoriety long after they’ve hung up their best frock. To be remembered you need to be pretty special. That special-ness can come from your voice or general interpretation of a song. Just think Monica Aspelund or Paul Oscar. Or it can come from the number of points you score. Or don’t score. I’m looking at you Jahn Teigen and Jemini. And then there are those who earn their place in Eurovision history for other reasons. And that reason is because of what you wear. Your outfit becomes so famous that the Eurovision people of note create an award in your name. Trijntje Ooosterhuis won it last year, and Gisela, Moje 3 and Nathalie Sorce have won it in the past. That award is, of course, the Barbara (Deckx) Dex Award. She wowed us all in 1993 with an outfit she made herself. This video is history in the making. Barbara is 42 today.
