I know the measure of some Eurovision fans. They have some trigger words that get them into a real frenzy. Most of the revolve around that there Scandinavia. “Carola” for example. Or “Sweden”. I’m just generalising, and you can call me Silvi if it isn’t so. So the title of today’s post could almost be another one of those little trigger words. There are individuals out there in Eurovisionland who can’t get enough of the name Conchita. So you’ll be pleased to learn it’s Conchita’s birthday. Conchita isn’t her real name of course. It’s María Concepción “Conchita” Bautista Fernández. What? You thought I was talking about someone else? Conchita is 79 today.
