And so it begins

Well Phil and I ate well yesterday and then slumped in front of the Russian telly knocking back vodka and indefeasibly strong beer. A good way to chill.

We have our free Metro pass now and can travel on the amazing Moscow underground with it’s grand stations whenever we want. I’ve warmed to the place considerably since yesterday morning and indeed since my last visit here 8 years ago.

It’s pricier than the rest of Eastern Europe but not that pricey. You can still dine out for less than a tenner and can still enjoy the local brew in bars for less than two quid. Supermarkets and mini marts are considerably cheaper and just as pleasant.

It has to be said that the organisation improves somewhat once you actually get into the world of Eurovisionia itself proper. I’m impressed so far, but that’s before the songs … to which effect Monte Negro beckons …
