I guess everybody’s out and about after a hard day’s rehearsing to go gawp at military hardware. That reminds me of my favourite joke about two fish sitting in a Sherman tank, and one of them says “How do you fire the gun on this thing?”. It probably loses something in the translation, however, so I’ll move on from that.
Seems that virtually everything’s just worked today, which is excellent to see and hear. Haven’t watched Hungary rehearse though – I daren’t! Greece, France and the UK are all now looking like they could have a big, BIG say in what happens next Saturday night; the latter two were just extraordinary for first rehearsals, they could broadcast what they’ve already done and be seriously proud of their efforts.
We talk a lot about 2009 around here, and that’s fair enough, but I think it’d be fun to have a bit of a reminisce; a sort of a la recherche du schlagers perdu, if you like. It’s the 54th Eurovision Song Contest this year, there have been something over 1100 entries performed on the various stages, and things have changed a bit over the years. Let’s dip under an LJ-cut and (go back in time… )
