Now then boys, girls and undecideds ….
Even though it is generally accepted that we are all far far more civilised than other blogs – there are times when things can get heated. I don’t want to appear heavy handed (but at 116kg it’s more than a little hard not to), but I think this is an appropriate time to remind you of the OnEurope house rules.
By way of introduction, I wish to remind you all of the theme of the classic TV show, ‘Mr&Mrs‘
Mr and Mrs
Be nice to each other
Mr and Mrs
You’ve got to love one another
Now whilst that’s not exactly high-standard lyric writing (although it bloody beats some in the 2010 contest) – the sentiment stands. We may not see eye-to-eye on everything, but the one thing I will insist on is no personal name calling or attacks.
As grown ups we should be able to air our differences in a civilised way. Personal attacks and name calling just isn’t on.
Comments will be screened and monitored and, if need be, deleted. I don’t want to exert editorial control (why stop the habit of a web-lifetime), but I will if I have to. I have also been know to name and shame people on this blog – again, it’s something I don’t like doing but I will if it gets too much!
Similarly, if you don’t like something that you read here, feel free to disagree, but do it in an adult way. If something really gets your goat (baaaaaaaaaaah), then use the contact form and we’ll have an e-mail conversation about it. I really don’t mind, again provided you are adult about it and don’t mail us with “why you talk the shits about my country?” … and yes, we did have that one.
You lot are the reason why I go to the Eurovision every year – I do it as your humble servant, but remember – we’re civilised and we only want civilised readers – or Eurovision fans who ought to know better. It’s probably the same thing!
Love you 😉
