Day 375 in the Eurovision House

Some time ago, or so it seems, I didn’t live here in the Dorf. It’s strange I know, but it may be in a former life, Such is my time in this contest. I’ve actually only been here for about 8 days, but it seems a little longer. Maybe because it’s Marathon Day and the public transport has gone very inefficient and un-German.

When I left you last night, dear reader, the United Kingdom of Stuff were about to rehearse. They have had said rehearsal and you will have read the words of my esteemed fellow bloggers. In the arena it didn’t come across half bad. Not 100% right, but it’s no car crash either. we had a time delay of about 7 second between screens 1-3 and screen 4 (you see, I do have these little nuggets of trivia). It all looked very good – for a first rehearsal. But that’s what first rehearsals are all about. For our friends in the Big 5, they only have to get the performance right just twice. This is probably where your more seasoned performer can come into their own. Save yourself for when it matters.

There was an official opening party last night, but only the great, the good and talkative got in. Apparently people could not take photos inside and were subjected to classical music. So the rest of us went to the Euroclub. It was busy and surprisingly devoid of Eurovision performers. Except Lucía Pérez and her interesting band of Spanish hangers-on.

Maja Keuc rehearsed earlier today. She is everything Dana International wants to be: young and good-looking for starters – I’ll leave you to work out the rest for yourself.

More later. Stay lucky.
