Hungry for Hungary

András Kállay-Saunders

I’ve been waiting all day, if not all my life, for András Kállay-Saunders. I’ve had my eye on him for some time now in the Hungarian final and I’m prepared to do most things for a photo with him before I leave Copenhagen. We went through to the arena to see him in the flesh. And what lovely flesh it is. But I’m not here to drool in front of you, I should say something about the song.

I like this. It shouldn’t work. Eurovision songs shouldn’t be about child abuse, and if they are they shouldn’t be in drum’n’bass, but Andras pulls it off admirably (the song! Ooh you lot are smutty!) I’m not so keen on the element of interpretative dance but it works her to illustrate the song’s message. I rather like the bit where he rescues the girl at the end, ooh he’s all butch and rugged.

Andras is playing at the EuroClub tonight. I might hang around to see if I can bum a lift in his bus and get him in the mood. I can see myself as a Eurovision fluffer…
