We’re nearly there today.
Portugal has again woken me from my slumbers. And what a way to wake up. I thought it was a very out of tune nightmare to start with. But no, Suzy has been taking lessons from the Dutch Double Date school of vocal perfection. If you live within 30 kilometres of where we are, and own a dog, they may run in our direction when she hits that all important final note. Awkward is a good description of the key change. We all, to a man, want to go to Portugal for a contest, but it most definitely won’t be in 2015.
You can alwaysh rely on the crazhy Dutch to bring a shemblanshe of order back to prosheedings. This is the first time I’ve seen this so these are my first impressions. They are two competent singers that sing at each other without shouting á la Nodi and Sopho. The camera work is top draw stuff and you can tell these are no fly-by-night operators that will be working in S*a*b*c*s on 12 May.
Sergej is the best singer here today and although many ‘pundits’ are deriding the addition of the skater, I think it’s pleasantly competent. She does her schtick very elegantly which fits well. The stage changes colour when she skates over it. To those who think it won’t qualify I say “Yah, boo, sucks to you with brass knobs on”.
Finally, András Kallay-(Finbar)-Saunders brought up the rear with this humdinger of a song. Many fans like the song, and like him too. So much so Mr Monty might need a cold shower before he returns from the arena. This is through. Most definitely through, and I’ll eat my merevaik if it doesn’t. Budapest 2015 anyone?
That’s me done for today. I need to muse over which 10 will go through and which six will be out of this expensive city on Wednesday morning.
I hope, dear reader, you enjoyed what I wrote. Catch you tomorrow.
