Phil’s Eurovision Countdown – Part 10/37 – Denmark

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready…

DENMARK – Hallucination – Sissal

The Danes really do need to look into the mirror and ask themselves why they are putting themselves and Europe through a recurring nightmare every year.  They have been flattering to deceive for more years than I care to remember and I just tend to write the same old tired cliches, because that is all DR is worth.

This yesar’s lamb to the slaughter is Sissal who was made odds on favourite at the  Melodi Grand Prix, mind you, that in and of itself is not the ringing endorsement that suggests.

Even when the song starts it feels tired and begs the question that if Cascade, a bigger name, could do badly with essentially the same song then how on earth is this going to do well ? The Light show in the NF performance below only masks the fact that the what you are hearing is weak ad insipid.  Musically it does nothing special and it loses me after about thirty seconds.  How can a televoter think this is any good.

This is all shades of wrong. A mediocre Europop song, with vocals, which don’t match the intensity the song want to have. Wrong styling and wrong presentation.
Something went wrong in the whole process, from choosing the wrong singer for the song, to the way this is performed.
