The Rasmus – Jezebel
I’m sure they exist, but you never hear anyone say “I tell you who my favourite band are. The Rasmus”, do you?
This is thoroughly professional and calculated to appeal to the middle-range rock fans that clearly vote at Eurovision.
If you can ignore the somewhat random lyric a killer shark in heels,a predator on wheels) it’s perfectly serviceable as a song. Neatly put together and has all the elements of something that should score nicely. The overall effect, though, is like if you photocopied Evanescence 3,500 times without changing the toner cartridge.
BUT, maybe this is suffering from the kind of thing that hits many a radio-friendly song. It’s good enough to cut it in the real world, but at Eurovision, it will lack that spark that gets it into anyone’s top ten list and score points.
