San Marino – Gabry Ponte – Tutta L’Italia
Oh do I have a lot to say about this. First of all, I’m pig sick of this song already. I was forced, not of my own volition, I hasten to add, to watch some of all five bastard days of Sanremo for you, my tired viewer, and you know what I got out of it?
This bloody song because it was the theme for it all.
So I’m pissed at RAI. I’m also pissed at the company that RAI owns, SMRTV, because not only did they put a selection show together, and then completely rip up the format at the last minute, they also introduced ringers into the selection and this was one of them!
Fucking…pointless for anyone with talent to take part in the early stages, in my opinion.
It also takes the piss that the song itself is talking about Italy, when it’s representing San Marino. And that could be a kick in the teeth for all concerned, if anyone bothered to listen to the song properly. Lisa-Jayne Lewis of this parish would say that this song is a “vibe” (Reader – I don’t know what this means properly I’m just using it to get down with the kids), but we all know what happens when you let DJs loose with songs – yes Gromee I’m looking at you.
