JJ – Wasted Love
You can almost hear the pitch meeting: a fragile opening line, a trembling upper register, then bam—crank up the production, cue the vocal histrionics, and hope something lands. It doesn’t.
Wasted Love sounds like every other mid-tempo empowerment ballad made from AI-scrambled bits of Julia Michaels and early Rita Ora, minus the hooks. JJ has pipes, no doubt, but the performance quickly escalates into full-throttle overkill.
It’s the musical equivalent of arguing with a doorbell: noisy, futile, and ultimately unmemorable. By the time the final chorus crashes in, you’ll be yearning for the sweet relief of a Moldovan sax solo.
