GERMANY – Baller – Abor and Tynna
Nena + Lena = Tynna.
What do you mean, that’s not a sufficient review? It covers pretty much everyth… FINE.
I think the song blender was on pulse setting here, because we’ve ended up with a distinctly lumpy mixture. Abor’s shtick seems to be looking like he’s not really that bothered about being there, contributing a cello line that fits and yet doesn’t, and the cello line naturally continues after the cello’s been half-heartedly not destroyed.
Tynna meanwhile bounces around being sultry in a teutonically efficient manner, shooting holes in the sky like a Guy Tell tribute act. It’s all perfectly solid fare, and yet…
The whole caboodle’s a sudoku with two 8s in the fourth row. It nearly works, but it’s got one too many things in it and there’s something there that stops it from gelling. It’s on the right track and will likely do better than usual for Germany, but I don’t see it troubling the top few.
