GREECE –Asteromata – Klavdia
It seems that I might have alarmed you, my dear reader, about my current state of affairs by writing these from my hospital bed. I can confirm that I am doing “ok” and by “OK” I mean not dead – just cos I am now half a leg missing does not mean I can not give these songs the derision that they sometimes deserve oh dear me no. Also, I might consider an onlyfans so you can see my stump – well I’ve got to fund this farrago somehow!
All of that was just a pre-cursor to me listening to the Greek song because from what I remember I didn’t think much of it. I certainly don’t think much of Klavdia because she reminds me of a Geography teacher that appears to have wandered into ERT and said “Me me me, miss, me” which is a bad start. They do get props for it being in Greek and the first 45 seconds certainly put you in mind of a souvlaki in the local Taverna but I expected more from the song than just going along in that typical ethno way for the other 2:15. As Mr Nick has already intimated I don’t know who this is for or is being aimed at and that is a problem.
Is it going to get the diaspora voting for it, yes without a doubt because it reminds them of the homeland but is that going to be enough points to get t through to the final? – I reckon it will be but only just. If this gets to the final on the back of that I shall e angry because it will have deprived a better song of a place. The juries in places that are NOT Cyprus will have trouble giving this a high score, the televoters of Europe are going to be wowed by other things and will forget to vote for their en-masse.
It’ll probably get two points from the East London Massive.
Phil’s Score – 3 Points.
