I wish to open this with a spoiler. This might be the shortest and possibly most sweary thing you’ll ever read on this website (up to now).

No, seriously, 500 miles is not far enough for Go-Jo to fuck off, he can go another 500 and even then that won’t be far enough. This is innuendo-laden pap, sung by some ironic kid that thinks he’s being all cool and shit by basically saying fanny and dick and spunk without saying the actual words. Malta tried that, and got into trouble and this only cleared the censors because of the knowing glances and the somewhat more family-friendly lyric.
It’s an old adage on this site that if you have to explain the joke in a song, it’s not funny. It’s not funny. Last year I wanted Australia never to come back if that was the kind of thing they were putting in but, to me, they’ve literally stopped the pretence of trying any more, and have gone for the tit and bum jokes.
Carry on up the Khyber it isn’t. Go-Jo is not the Devils in Skirts OR Joan Simms getting a little plastered. Just go away.

It’s a bit quirky and I should like this but the thing is that the singer takes itself too seriously. The inuendo suggests something more playful and fun, but the end results is more serious than it has been intended to be.
There is a bit of monotony to the whole proceeding, which doesn’t help me liking the song.
