Artsvik kicks off Eurovision #CelebrateDiversityChallenge

Artsvik

Clever old Artsvik. While lesser stars are busy lip-synching on Saturday evening telly, she’s found a way to create something genuinely interesting involving those taking part in the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest.

And it’s all about her!

She’s thrown down the gauntlet to fellow Eurovision performers. The #CelebrateDiversityChallege is a bit like the icebucket challenge, but with Armenian folk songs instead of cold water.

She performs a traditional song from their homeland, they respond by covering an Armenian folk song. It’s all online, it’s hashtag-based. And best of all, it’s in keeping with the spirit of the show.

Clever old Artsvik.

Her first challenge was to German singer Levina. She posted a video on Facebook where she sings the traditional German song Das Wandern ist des Müllers Lust and challenged Levina to sing a traditional Armenian song of her choice.

Levina wasted no time and posted her version of Kaqavik.

Her next target was Hovig – the Cypriot representative. She performed Το γιασεμίν (The Jasmine).

The first #CelebrateDiversityChallenge attempt seems to have succeeded. Let’s keep on challenging. This time I tried to perform a popular Cypriot song (Το γιασεμίν – THE JASMINE), this way challenging another representative of @eurovision Song Contest 2017 – Armenian singer @hovigmusic from #Cyprus. Hope you like my performance. Looking forward to your response.

This could run and run.
