We get songs about all subjects at our favourite TV programme. Love, the planet, San Francisco. But people even sing songs about days of the week. Do you have a favourite day of the week?
In 1982, we got a song about Sunday. A day of rest maybe. Or describing what the weather’s like. It’s a novel approach. Today’s birthday boy Michael Scheickl was one half of the energetic duo Mess. The bounced around and seemed very much in love. And pale blue was the colour to be seen in in Vienna in 1982. They managed ninth, and picked up points from a fair spread of countries. Ninth became a bit of a habit for Austrian songs in the 1980s, but it was probably one of the better songs from ORF in that decade. Must have been the novel subject.
Michael is 68 today.
