We are Domi were delayed by many minutes, so I buggered off and got something to eat – that’s the kind of web content that you require clearly!
Their rehearsal was ‘kinda nice’, to use their words. They have waited for this moment, and they cannot wait to perform it on the big stage in front of an audience. Dominika admitted she still couldn’t quite believe they were there at last: “Wow, we’re here,” she said – yes, everyone else has thought the same. They say that, despite the sun non-story, it’s going to look ace.
Their inspiration came from the pre-parties and the delegations. They have not had that much time for the creativity to flow, but they have had a “super nice” time. The music video meaning starts from being the video they have always wanted to make, creatively. The concept is that Domi is trapped and the other two in the band are hacking and being set free from not showing any emotion.
The band’s goal from the beginning was to have their music heard. Without Eurovision they fear they would not do this, and the Contest is a massive platform for the band and Czech music. The band try to answer all of their social media messages, and sometimes Domi replies with voicenotes – that’s not stalkerish at all!
It seems that they wrote ‘Lights off’ at a songwriting camp, where there were many talented musicians, and the delegation head of CT said they should go – they were late and they were accepted.
They wrote the song on the first day “Within three hours”. Sometimes groupthink can work!
