Does a well-known songwriter help to get a song votes? Eurovision is a songwriter’s competition after all, and a singer’s performance can make or break a song.
Back in 2009, our friends in Denmark talked Ronan Keating into co-writing a song for today’s birthday boy Niels ‘Brinck’ Kristensen. As we know, he co-hosted the circus in 1997 so had form. It could even be said that Mr Brinck was a Keating soundalike. Anyway, Niels, Ronan & co beat nine other hopefuls in the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix, then scraped through their semi-final in Moscow. Then out of the five Nordics they finished third. Not a bad finish for someone who knows Eurovision. And he finished behind a (long way behind a) certain Mr Rybak.
Brinck is 46 today.
Tillykke med fødselsdagen, Brinck!
