Do you like the contests that were in black & white? Or are you definitely a fan of colour? If you delve into the archives, there are some monochrome gems in the early days of the contest.
Well, today we’re on the cusp of colour. In 1968, the contest was shown in black & white on the Saturday evening. The host broadcaster BBC then showed it again on the Sunday in colour. We got to see how the performers were embracing this new technology with some interesting outfits. Today’s birthday girl Kristina Hautala opted for a lime green mini-dress. Even though she was born in Sweden, that nation ignored her song and she scored her sole point from Norway. Maybe it was because the jurors couldn’t see the lime-green mini-dress.
Kristina is 71 today.
Hyvää syntymäpäivää, Kristina!
