Your eyes won’t be deceiving you today. Yes, it’s fun and games in black & white. But don’t let that put you off. Some of the songs from those monochrome days are easily as good as some we get nowadays.
We go back today to 1967, when the contest was in a palace and sponsored by a mirror or glass company, it seemed. The UK of stuff had its first win, and this song from today’s birthday girl Noëlle Cordier came third. This was a fair-to-middling finish for our friends in France, and probably something they’d kill for these days. France may need to enter more stuff like this sumptuous little song. Or get Ms Cordier back.
Noëlle is 75 today.
Bonne anniversaire, Noëlle!
