Somewhere in a television studio in Athens, at the back end of 2018, arose a shadowy figure who put fired up the projector, showed a bunch of composers last year’s entry from Cyprus and said “that – again” in Greek.

That’s because you’ve seen the same words nine days ago! And who said that Greece and Cyprus were similar!
However in an ironic twist, Greece went completely the other way and rebelled, going for something totally the opposite to what I would have expected.
It reminds me of the kind of thing Annie Lennox would have sung in her pomp, and Katerine’s voice also reminds me of Annie … but that is where the comparisons end. The song to me seems to run out of ideas after the main verse and chorus combo and marks time to the end. It isn’t a bad song, it’s just unremarkable, and doesn’t really stand out above the mire. Listen to “No More I Love Yous” by the said Annie and tell me there isn’t a similarity!

The verse promises something unique but the then comes the chorus and let you down, because the chorus is just too conventional.
Than there are those high notes, here and there, which I am not sure she can sing live as they might be too high for her register.
Another issue I have is the last 30 seconds, where it seems the writers didn’t know how to finish the song and sort of repeated the musical sentence until they had to end the song. And the song ends quite abruptly. Not sure of that work for the song or against it.
In general it should give Greece a good result and the fact she is singing second to last in her semi, almost guarantee we will see her on Saturday, which is a good thing.
