Mo’s Eurovision Countdown 2019 – Israel

‘Home’ sounds like a song cut from a West End musical because it was running long. I’ve no doubt that Kobi has a powerful voice, but this song doesn’t do him justice. It would struggle to shower anyone in glory.

The rhyming dictionary has been well-thumbed, and the Big Book of Cliche has been thrown squarely at the Eurovision stage. There’s the old ‘ticking clock’, someone ‘running barefoot to the mountain tops’, not to mention ‘standing tall not giving in’.

This schmaltz-fest is topped off with the most dreadful key change going. It somehow makes the clunk of the UK gear switch sound masterful … and that takes a lot of doing.

I detest this entry with every fibre of my being.

… and it’s been done better already by the lovely Rachel Parris anyway.
