As we know, there have been 67 contests. But if you count from 1956, you know that doesn’t quite add up. That’s because we all know what happened in 2020. No contest, but there was still a crop of songs.
Many of the Class of 2020 got a go one year later, but a number didn’t. Today’s birthday boy Antonio Diodato was one such artist. It turned out RAI did the right thing because of course they won in 2021. But Diodato finally got his turn on the stage in Torino/Turin in 2022. His was not your typical performance. There were more than six on stage. But his interval act was something to behold. So here’s that performance of what may have won in 2020. Of course we’ll never know. Enjoy this masterpiece.
