I have a problem with Latvia. Not just that the screen with the better view in the press room keeps cutting out and the other is a bit light to see, but with the whole concept of this. I know it’s a toe-tapper and all sing-a-long but I just can’t get past the banality of it. I see the tongue-in-cheek humour and the feel-good factor but I just can’t get it I’m afraid. Your man looks like he should have a nose ring and a dog on a string, and possibly a can of super strength lager in a paper bag.
On stage it’s all laid back chumminess, but for me it’s a bit clumsy. It’s as if they really don’t have a clue at all as to how to sell it so it will qualify. For me it doesn’t have a hope. It’s a shame as they band members are all very friendly and engaging, but it’s just not coming across at all, and frankly it’s a bit trite.

What you are trying to say is, Mary Bell, is not happy and as a song about Cakes, it has a soggy bottom. Good try but not star baker
I’m absolutely certain it won’t qualify but my favourites nearly always fall at the first hurdle – I still love it!
