Flags, flags, flags

Phil: Now then, Moldova … It’s heavily choreographed – as you would expect with a dramatic song such as this. They look to have nicked flags left in the Eurovision prop box by Carola or Sylvia Night. The red background makes the whole performance dark and moody, but in a good way. She really attacks the song and you can hear the lyric, which is a huge advance over recent Moldovan entries; and the ribbon waving also helps. A good overall package and, even though she has her detractors, I  see this qualifying!

Nick: Mmmm. This has just spent twenty-five minutes slipping under my radar, but Natalia’s penultimate run through just now has made me sit up. There’s something to this, even for a man allergic to ‘Top C’. There’s a fair bit of drama, for sure. There are some seriously dangerous notes in there though, and if even one of them fails then the whole structure could collapse. If she hits them all on the nail the way she just did though …
