Do you have a penchant for duets? Do you like the close harmonies when two well-suited singers are paired up for a gem of a song? Do you like it when they stand millimetres apart and shout at each other? We’ve had every possible variation in our favourite TV show.
In 2023, our friends in the Netherlands went down the duet route, and today’s birthday boy Dion Cooper (né Dion Cuiper) was the male half of the pair – the one with the longer hair. His song with his pal Mai Nicolai had been a talking point during the pre-parties running up to the big show, but no publicity is bad publicity, right? Well, things didn’t go that well for MaiDion, as they scored seven points from five juries. And they didn’t finish last. Still, Dion told those who wanted to listen that he was, ahem, “super proud” of that performance. You be the judge.
Dion is 31 today.
