Netherlands and Finland

Hind - Your heart belongs to me

See- you get 2 for the price of one with this blog – what more could you possibly ask for.

Firstly, apologies to Armenia – am sure she was good – but as earlier noted, we were too tired.

Moving on – Netherlands. Now, we only saw two rehearsals of this but this is now qualifying without a shadow of a doubt. Hind (pronouced hin-t, so I am told…) does all the major food groups of a Eurovision song very well – Cheese, Meat… NO!! – I mean she looks down the camera and delivers a weak song very well. The only reason, though, this is qualifying is because semi final one is so weak that ten of these sac magiques HAVE to qualify and that is a worrying endictment of this semi final that if a song that was not even on the radar 4-5 days ago is now a qualifier…. what is that saying??

Finland ( With Pyro) is , IMHO looking very strong. This is clearly going to be a marmite song – either you will love it= – because you can get the fact that this is NOT “Lordi without masks” and that it is a good Rock song sung by people that have made a career out of this thing and are not just here to make the numbers AND you can get that this is a very very good song and a great performance (such as it is) with cracking pyros.

OR

You’ll think it’s a load of old tosh and the contest isn’t ready/doesn’t want music like this in it.

Personally, I think that this is qualifying, probably in ninth place and on the basis of this performance, I would be saddened if it dodn’t get through.
