9 August – But… but… but… but… but… but…

Time to look back. A long way back. Back before some of you might even have been born. But fear not, it’s in beautiful colour.

If you didn’t know, the first contest in colour was in 1968. A time when the whole world started to show off what colours were fashionable, and what colours were the ones to be seen in on a Eurovision stage. Today’s birthday boy Odd Børre (Sørensen) ignored the lime green suits and stuck to something more formal, just to give the show a bit of gravitas. That’s all his song appeared to give the contest, as he scored a mammoth two points. It’s become more of a classic than many other songs from 1968, so maybe Odd had the last laugh after all.

Odd is 82 today.

Gratulerer med dagen, Odd!
