When a song you’ve loved for months is finally shown in full at the rehearsal you do get a little choked. I’m a little emotional today naturally. Norway are my joint favourite his year with Poland.
Norway looks quite different from the MGP final but still works a treat for me. There’s so much emotion there from Mørland and Deborah is still running the line between moody and quirky. No backdrops, no projections, not even smoke in these run throughs (hope to see a bit on the night). This is a stripped back staging for a beautiful song and I absolutely adore it still. Some here have said that the staging here has lost a bit of its impact since Oslo but I think for the average viewer it’s a memorable performance. I love how the orange light picks out her fiery hair and the smouldering looks between them are wonderful. I’d love this to do very very well.
